I decided to feature a fruit or vegetable individually and give the benefits of including them in your diet. It’s going to be called “The Deal With…”

Ok, so I absolutely LOVE garlic. I don’t really know anyone who doesn’t like garlic. Known as the stinking rose, garlic is characterized as a strong smelling and flavorful vegetable. It’s even been used in other ways such as ward away evil spirits and in medicine. All in all, it’s a vegetable that is not only a great addition to a dish, but it the benefits of consumption is quite good for you in the long run as far as medicinal properties.
Interesting fact: Did you know that there are more than 300 varieties of garlic? I didn’t. In the United States however, 90% of garlic is grown in California and comes in two types: early and late. Early garlic is the off white or white colored and grows in the mid summer, while late garlic is off white on the outside. It doesn’t hurt to add some garlic in the mix, does it?
