Took a half day from work today and took my cousins to the pool since they’re here visiting for the weekend. Today my workout was swimming about 10 laps nonstop and it definitely was tiring. I haven’t swam in a while and it took a lot out of me. Pool workouts are cool because you don’t feel sweaty because you’re already wet!
When you swim, you use your arms more than your legs, which is just as good as lifting free weights because of the resistance of when you’re pushing the water. It’s also a great way to do cardio if you have back problems because you feel lighter in water. Another good thing about swimming is that you have to focus on your breathing as you swim, unlike when you’re on a treadmill. I dunno about you, but after my laps I felt relaxed just being in the pool hanging out!

I completely agree with you; I try to get to the pool at least once a week on a lunch break for a half hour swim. It’s a great workout and great cross training.
