Day 14: Couch to 5K Day 1
I headed over to the gym to start my Couch to 5k training. The first week consists of the following: Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes. After I was done I did 1.31 miles. I plan to do this workout every other day to follow the 3 times week 1 regimen. I felt really good after the workout and looking forward to see how this will improve my fitness and my ability to run more than just 1 mile.
I’m actually watching VH1 right now and they’re revealing the most fit celebrities. It’s pretty interesting since you get to learn what they did in order to look the way they do. It’s also cool when you see them in the gym working out too. I think it’s such an inspiration to watch this even though entertainers are usually meant to look good on screen or stage.
A tip from the show: Interval training actually helps burn more fat than just being at a constant speed when you’re doing cardio. I guess the Couch to 5k plan and this goes together! ![]()
