A Personal View Of Why I Believe Diets Don’t Work

by Sue on August 14, 2007

Fruits & VeggiesInspired by the Fat Smash Diet I saw on Celebrity Fit Club I decided to take on the challenge. I bought the Extreme Fat Smash Diet book and tried it out until week 3. I noticed a weight loss but I found myself always hungry. I know that I have some habits with snacking constantly but I always felt hungry. I knew for me that wasn’t good. I had to stop the diet. I guess some people may think I couldn’t hack it, but why should I feel hungry all the time? I know I shouldn’t.

Whenever I think about the word ‘diet,’ it reminds me of depriving myself of certain foods and feeling unhappy. As much as I love eating fruits and vegetables, I know that I have to eat that more and less fried, fatty foods. I just need to be more creative when it comes to making foods that incorporate those things.

I know my eating habits need to improve and in all honesty, it’s getting there. I still live at home so I have to live with whatever my mom cooks, and I save money too! She’s been cooking a lot of fish dishes lately and less fried stuff so it works out. I definitely need to learn how to cook my own food, but it’s difficult when you’re so busy at work, go workout and then totally tired when you get home!
