Day 23: Couch to 5k Week 3 Day 1

Running OutsideToday I started week 3 of the Couch to 5k training program and it was actually not too bad, although I was having a tough time since I was jogging outside. I wanted to change it up and skipped the gym and ran amongst the elements. Since I live in South Florida, it’s not exactly running weather especially when the sun is still out around 5pm. I actually tried to run in the backyard with my dogs but that wasn’t helping since they were chasing me. :) So I ran up the block and then back.

Week 3 consists of the following:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then do two repetitions of the following:

  • Jog 200 yards (or 90 seconds)
  • Walk 200 yards (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 400 yards (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 400 yards (or three minutes)

I also did some arm exercises, before my run so from there I was totally ready to tackle the running challenge!
