This past weekend I made a trip over to Whole Foods just to see what they had since it’s quite a trip to get there from my house. Since Whole Foods is more health food oriented I wanted to see what kind of food they had. In NYC when I was living there, I used to eat there for lunch since they had a huge variety of different foods at their hot food bar. Unfortunately, over here in South FL it’s not as big and not much variety.
Anyway, I was looking for some new snacks and I came across these Bumble Bars. They were in the same section as the cereals and Halvah. I grabbed one Bumble Bar Almond flavor since it was close to running out. I usually do this with energy bars too if I’m not sure which one to get. I honestly wasn’t too sure what to expect from the Bumble Bar since the wrapper appealed to me and I figured it had honey in it. I got home and tried it and saw that it was a sesame seed bar stuck together with brown rice syrup and other ingredients. It tasted really good, and since I LOVE sesame seeds, I finished the bar not long after. I had to go back and try the other flavors, so the next day I went back to Whole Foods and got their Original flavor, Chocolate and Almond (again). The original had peanuts and sesame seeds stuck together with brown rice syrup along with other organic ingredients. The chocolate flavor is yummy as well. I highly recommend them if you’re interested in trying a new snack that’s made out of organic ingredients.

According to Bumble Bar’s website:
Bumble Bar is gluten-free, wheat free, dairy free, and ceritified organic by the Washington State Dept. of Agriculture.
We handcraft Bumble Bars in the Pacific Northwest with the finest organic ingredients for maximum health benefits:
- Bumble Bars are rich in flax seeds, which contain an abundance of life-enhancing Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs). Omega 3 EFAs maintain healthy cell structure and help protect against heart disease, cancer, arthritis and more. EFAs are thought to bolster your energy, improve hormone regulation, improve immunity and reduce stress. Flax seeds also represent one of the best dietary sources of lignans, a class of phytoestrogens that nutritionists say protect against breast, colon and prostate cancers.
- Bumble Bars are made with calcium-rich organic sesame seeds to help build strong bones. Sesame seeds contain three times as much calcium as an equivalent amount of milk. And studies show that sesamin, a lignan found only in sesame seeds, is a strong antioxidant that fights free radicals and helps with your cholesterol.
- Bumble Bars are rich in fiber. Nutritionists say the soluble kind of fiber found in flax seeds can help lower cholesterol and regulate blood sugar levels.
- Bumble Bars are also gluten-free, wheat-free and dairy-free, filling a need among the growing number of people who are wheat- or dairy-intolerant.
- Bumble Bars are made without genetically modified ingredients and are pesticide-free.
Omega 3’s are good for healthy cell structure and good for cancer prevention.
Flax seeds are also a main ingredient in this bar and are good for you for many reasons:
1. Omega 3 essential fatty acids
For healthy cell structure and cancer prevention
2. Plant Lignans
Comparable to soy as a natural estrogen regulator.
3. Dietary Fiber
For a healthy heart and colon.
1 Bumble Bar contains ½ Tablespoon of Flax.
