Abs Diet Strength Training

by Sue on September 5, 2007

Bicep CurlToday I did some strength training following a routine in the Abs Diet book. The Abs Diet not only has information on the ‘diet’ but it also provides exercises you can do located at the end of the book. I am still reading the book, but I needed some strength training ideas so I used the recommended routine. I did a total of 14 different workouts that targeted the abs/core, legs, and arms.

A lot of the workouts are pretty basic and can pretty much be done at the gym, and even some home variations. Each exercise was definitely a challenge for me, considering I’m somewhat of a weakling! But, I know I’ll progress as I continue doing these strength exercises. It is recommended that strength training should be done 3 times a week, alternating with cardio exercise. It’s good to alternate since you keep your body on edge and not used to the activity you do on a daily basis. It’s definitely important for your body to always adjust to your exercise, as well as what you eat. I don’t know about you, but this book is definitely giving me a lot of perspective on exercising and how I eat. The real test is…will I be seeing abs in the near future? I hope so!

  • My mother is on the Abs Diet and has been getting incredible results and she absolutely love it. Keep up the great work on this blog.
  • Hi Sue. My friend is a disciple of the Abs Diet and swears by its benefits. He always forwards articles about the Abs Diet, especially from Men's Health magazine. He always says, "Abs Diet, baby!"

I'm plodding along and doing stuff almost every day, but my biggest challenge is to change up my routines so that my body will continue to adjust, thereby prolonging and accelerating the weight loss.
