Today more running training ensued and boy, it is really tough. I wish that I did more running outside because it sure is difficult. I’m going ahead and running closer and closer to 3.2 miles before the race and today I did 2 1/4 miles. I had to stop every now and then to catch my breath and drink some water but I did it. The heat is also part of the challenge to running a longer distance outdoors. I constantly pushed myself and told myself that this is nothing compared to the race, which is the ultimate obstacle! In my opinion, I know that I can get used to running outdoors so I’m going to keep at it until the race and once the race is done I’ll definitely run outside every now and then. Thank goodness I finished before it started to pour rain outside!
I definitely need to do some strength training, which I plan to tomorrow.

Running in the rain is fun, it is the thunder and lightning that you need to avoid! The first 30 minutes of my 50k on Sunday was in the pouring rain…
Good job on finally getting out there, though. I hate running indoors; I’d rather be outside almost any time. I don’t seriously consider inside until the temperatures are above 100 or below -15 or so.
