When it comes to mornings, I definitely need something warm to drink. I used to drink coffee everyday. I just didn’t feel right if I didn’t have a cup of coffee, especially during work. But with all the sugar and sweet creamer in it, I know that I wasn’t doing right for my body with that. I started drinking tea instead. There has been debates on whether coffee is bad to consume on a daily basis, because of caffeine and of course the sugar that people put in it to help make the taste better, but I later found out that coffee isn’t all that bad to have.
Coffee definitely helps you wake up, and I know this because I remember that day when it was free coffee day at Dunkin Donuts and it definitely helped me through the work day. It actually made me feel really giddy and antsy, which got a little uncomfortable after a while. There are antioxidants in coffee that help your body out, which is good. Coffee also helps prevents Parkinson’s disease, and believe it or not, helps rid of headaches and asthma and even boost mood. So coffee isn’t so bad after all, if you can drink it in its all natural-ness! I personally can’t, it’s just TOO bitter.
So what’s so great about tea? Well for starters, most tea has a lot less caffeine and most tea makes you feel more relaxed than high strung like coffee does. Green tea is well known for helping weight loss, revs up your metabolism and inhibits fat absorption. Tea also helps in preventing heart disease along with a eating healthy and exercise regimen.
Personally, I like tea because everything is natural, from the herbs to the honey I use to sweeten it up. Coffee just has too much just to make it just right for me. I would put so much sugar in it just to enjoy it. I guess it’s a personal preference, but unless someone can suggest a way to make coffee naturally sweet, then I’m sticking to tea.

I use Splenda and sugar-free creamer in my coffee since I have a sugar sensitivity. Tea isn’t enough to get me through the day with my kids. lol.
But at night, I do enjoy green tea on a daily basis.
Caffeine is worse than alcohol or tobacco…
Personally, I’ve eliminated all caffeine from my diet and have been very happy about that. While caffeine (especially mixed with ibuprofen) is good for treating headaches, it is also a great way to cause headaches as well.
I prefer not being dependant upon a drug to function in the morning. I tend to drink tea (evenings more often than other times) but I stick to non-caffeinated green teas and fruity teas. Water is my mainstay beverage of choice.
