Is Being Skinny Really Worth It?

Fergie & AmericaI’ve been battling with how the way my body looks for a long time, and I came to realize that I honestly don’t want to be skinny. When I mean skinny, I’m referring to Hollywood celebrity skinny. I’m not a person who really cares what others think, but when I look at pictures of myself, especially lately, I notice that I don’t like the way I look. Ever since I started this blog I know that I’m working towards a goal of a toned body. I feel better about myself that I’m getting there rather than not doing anything.

There are some celebrities that are more interested in being healthy and fit, notably, Fergie and America Fererra than following every skinny celebrity in Hollywood. These are the celebrities that our youth should look up to. That’s why they grace the covers of fitness magazines like Shape and Self, instead of the cover of OK! magazine and In Touch Weekly.

It makes me sad because of the fact that society can be so fixated on the way we look and judge us because of it. I don’t want to look skinny, I want to look fit and healthy.

    Amen to that!

That’s a big complaint of mine as well. I have no interest in overweight people, but anorexic doesn’t do it for me either. Find a healthy weight and maintain it.

You are right it is really getting sad. How they look is not normal and I can’t imagine girls or women want to look that way.
