Do You Have Fitness Goals For The 2008?

I’m pretty excited about 2008 coming because you get to start over in a sense that its a new year and you can only do better! I have a bunch of goals fitness/health related I want to accomplish, and planning for them is pretty fun. Goals are a great way to stick to something, so I’ve listed the top 5 things, fitness and health related that I want to accomplish in 2008.

1. Lose 10lbs and keep it off - This will be the biggest challenge.
2. Workout 4 days a week - I know I can stick to this since I find myself busy with other things such as life and work.
3. Run a marathon - I really want to run the NYC marathon, and it’s in November 2008, so that gives me time to train.
4. Eat better - This is also a huge challenge since I hate dieting. Gotta find that balance between eating the things I love and what’s really not good for you.
5. Be more active - I’d really like to take up a sport besides running.

What are your fitness goals for the 08?

oh, I so need to put mine down on paper too. (and glue it to the wall so I don’t “forget”!)

I’d like to lose 15lbs and possibly run a marathon. And eat better, I need to kick my sugar habit.

have you tried Spinning (cycling) classes? They are a great complement to running.

Get better at cooking my own food and getting in those 6 small meals throughout the day. I really have to pay my dues in the kitchen!

Those are some good goals. Mine include maintaining my recent 25 pound weight loss. I’ve actually only got 3.5 lbs to reach the final 25, which I’m confident I’ll reach by month’s end. The next part is keeping it off. Like you too, I’d like to find a new sport to participate in especially something that is a bit more social. As a bonus, maybe I can meet a new boyfriend this way…lol…

Great goals you have, mine are just to be more active and lose a bit of weight. Looking forward to being healthier in 2008.

Here are some quick fitness goals for 2008:

Lose 25 pounds. I don’t like to publicize my weight loss goals, but putting it out in the open might help.

Continue to go to the gym regularly. I try to go as often as I can, but this month has been hectic. Going 5-6 times a week is a good target.

Eat smarter. To that end, I will do as my wife suggested and go to Weight Watchers, albeit very reluctantly.

Train for a 5K or 10K run. I think I’m still a year or two away, but I hope to make progress toward that end.

Resume sessions with a personal trainer. I stopped for six months but will resume my sessions after the new year in order to acclerate my fitness goals.

I find preparing for the New Year uplifting and fun. I always try to hit two to three big goals a year. Here are mine for fitness and health in 2008:

    1. Run more than walk the Country Music City Half Marathon in April 2008.
    2. Eat the smaller meals throughout the day and focus on the healthier options. (I’m going to work on this one through smaller steps). I’ve already removed sugar from my coffee!!! I can’t believe I did it.
    3. Lose 20lb to reach pre-pregnancy weight and maintain before setting new weight loss goal!
