Music is really important to me, and because of that, it’s important to have music with me when I workout. I’ll admit that I’m pretty dependent on it, but it helps to keep me motivated, so whatever works! I came across Skinny Songs, from a reader and got my hands on a copy. The music is upbeat and most of the songs are about losing weight and keeping in shape. The music is a mix of upbeat Pop, Rock and Country and the lyrics are ALL about losing weight, body image, and getting motivated to make a change.
SkinnySongs is not about any particular size or shape — it is all about setting your own personal goals and taking charge of your life to achieve them.
Although the title is a little misleading, at least they clarify! I think fit is in, not skinny. Skinny Songs has been featured on The Martha Stewart Show, US Today, The Early Show and Oprah and Friends Radio. I think it’s definitely different than your average workout music. Hear some sample tracks of the songs and lyrics at Skinny Songs.
I’ve also decided to give away my copy of Skinny Songs to one lucky reader! All you need to do is subscribe to my RSS feed and leave a comment with – 1) Your Location 2) Your favorite genre of music to listen to while working out. I’ll announce the winner on Monday, March 17. Good luck!

Music has given people inspiration since the beginning of time. Fit is in and skinny may not always be healthy.
