Staying Focused.

by Sue on September 29, 2008

Today I worked out and it seriously seemed like it’s been a while since the last time I did. Work has been overly busy (and still is), and I don’t know how I’ve been surviving, but I think the fact that exercising really does make me feel good after sitting all day trying to get things together for meetings and doing what is needed at work.

As far as eating, I’ve been portioning and making my own food for the most part, and the week before last I did a test of showing you all what I’ve eaten, I’ve gotten a couple comments here and there criticizing what I’ve eaten, which made me hesitant to continue doing this. It was just an experiment and I’m still deciding if I still want to do it.

I haven’t run in a week due to recuperating from vacation and the weather has just been yucky out. Tomorrow I definitely am going to venture out and run even if I have to get a little bit wet. Today I did the 30 Day Shred Workout with Jillian Michaels, and I seriously love it because it pushes me and any other workout is pretty much doable from here. I got a few more of her DVDs so I’m looking forward to doing those. I think I have enough work out DVDs that I don’t even need a gym anymore, except when I need to run.

I’ve been pretty bad with the blogging here and I seriously appreciate all the comments I’ve been getting. So to all those whose commented I thank you so so much! I am going to try to respond to you all more, I promise!

Time to watch some Heroes and then getting a good night’s sleep! :)

Hey,

I just wanted to say that I enjoy reading your blog and I like that you had been posting pictures of what you ate. Don’t worry about what other people have to say. If they don’t like it, they don’t have to check out your blog.

Have a good one,
Robin

Hey Sue,

Totally understand where your coming from. I’ve just got back into training this week after two weeks off. It’s quite easy to let your fitness routine slip away but it feels good to get back on it.

P.S. I’ve seen the first two episodes of Heroes. Love it :-)

Great post. Whenever I start (or get back into) a workout routine, its easy for me to get motivation in the begging, but as time goes by it gets harder and harder. I like to plan out my workout at the beginning of each week.

I have been working on health site called peoplesmd.com. There is some great information on diet, fitness, and healthy lifestyle. It’s a great way to keep track of your favorite sites, and find new ones. I think you guys would really like it!

Please do continue to post what you’ve eaten. I find it fascinating and it does give me ideas for my own diet (including weight loss efforts).

First off, love Heroes! Second, don’t beat yourself up over what’s an acceptable routine for you because everyone is different. A hard habit to avoid is looking at what other people do, how often they workout, what they eat, how they look… it can get exhausting trying to compare. Everything goes in waves and sometimes we have an awesome workout month, and sometimes life happens. Just keep up the great work and only consult the professionals on serious health & fitness advice ; ) Great blog!
