Hope that everyone had a great New Years! Mine was pretty fun, I actually didn’t expect to do anything but I ended up spending time with my family at a family party and everyone danced until 1am, and watched fireworks. Then yesterday Glen and I went on a balloon ride! It was amazing!
I thought about some things that I want to do different this year and one of them was to convince my fiancee to work out with me. He’s been complaining about his weight gain, and I know that if he just worked out and ate less junky food, he’d be to a point where he was happy with the way he looked. I am also in the same boat as him, so I thought, why not do this together? So on Friday during lunch, I asked him if he was willing to join a gym with me and he said he was. So I was excited!
Today we had planned to check out the new LA Fitness that just opened up, but my fiancee being the investigative person he is, he read some reviews about the gym online first. He was really skeptical about dishing out a lot of money and we had a talk about the gym being a big investment. It wasn’t a good idea for us to be spending money on this with saving for a wedding in the horizon. So although it made me upset, I was okay with it. He assured me that since getting in shape is important to me and to him he will stop making excuses and work with me to keep this up.
We decided to create a schedule for the week to work out together. Today we did Billy Blank’s Tae Bo Cardio for 45 minutes and it wasn’t so bad. I think he was feeling out of shape though. I’m very serious about working out again and I am glad that he wants to do this with me. I’m happy that I’m going to have a workout partner, who happens to be the love of my life and my best friend too. It’s always good to have someone to motivate you and I am pretty confident we will reach our goals.
