Yesterday I wasn’t able to go out for that light jog I wanted… but instead went and did the Cardio Kickbox DVD from Ms Jillian Michaels. I am getting used to this workout. I have more of her DVDs but they require a step, which I do not have yet. Not sure if I should even invest in one… what do you think? If anyone has a step, is it worth it?
The sun goes down way too early because we’re all in Winter, although here in Florida we don’t see the snow the rest of the North sees. I’m not up for going out in the dark alone, and even with Glen for a run. Call me scared of the dark, but I value safety over anything else. I hope that this weekend we’ll get to go for that light jog I’ve been wanting to do.
I was reading an issue of Health magazine and saw this ad for those 100 calorie pack snacks. While I think they’re great for portion control, I don’t consider them any different than the snacks in regular boxes. Chips Ahoy cookies are still the same cookies even in a 100 calorie pack. What do you think? In no way I am against eating cookies from time to time, but it was just something I was thinking about as far as how companies market their products to make us think its healthy. Does that make any sense?

i totally understand what your saying about needing the correct light / weather to work out.
I found a book which helped me out, called No Gym Required. It is so easy to stick to and really does show you all the things you need to get your fitness not to mention health back on track. It not only gives you exercises you can do at home or even work but also the healthy eating that will aid your weight loss! How amazing is that!

Sigh. I know the feeling. i try to race home on the nice days we have here in Boulder, Co. but even when I get there around five there is hardly enough light left. I have taken to running on my lunch break some days but I don’t like the rushed and grubby feeling. Can’t wait for the long days again where I can leave work, run up Mt. Sanitas and be back with plenty of time to sit out and watch the sun go down. Waiting for it…

I agree re the snack packs. Packaged foods in general are terrible for your health in general (and for weight loss) because they tend to be very refined (spikes your blood sugar) and contain partially hydrogenated oils (contribute to weight gain).
