It’s really the end stretch for me. I’m getting married at the end of February, the 27th to be exact, and last Saturday I went for my 2nd dress fitting. The week before I was pretty sick, coughing and just not feeling well at all, so obviously, there was no form of exercise that week.
When I tried on the dress, I was surprised that I could actually get into it! I mean, it actually fit well, except the dreaded area – the midsection. For as long as I can remember this is an ongoing problem area of mine. It was a bit tight, but snug enough that it wasn’t falling off.
So, for the next 6 weeks or so, starting next week of course, I’ll be working out more regularly. Hopefully, when I try on my dress on February 13, which is my last fitting and “take dress home day,” it will fit perfectly. I am definitely nervous about this, but I know as long as I work out from now until the wedding day, I should be ok!
So what will I be doing exactly? Since I don’t have a gym membership, I will be taking advantage of the fitness resources I do have. My favorite workout DVD, the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels is definitely a workout routine I will be doing. Other workouts will be the many selections I have on Exercise TV on demand, which is another great resource to have. It will help make workouts less repetitive and boring.
I plan to workout during the week and take advantage of the weekends, when time isn’t as limited.
When starting a workout routine after a hiatus its best to get into it slowly. Being too ambitious in the beginning will most likely end in me failing.
I’ve never been a calorie counter or weight watcher, more like a, “wow, this actually fits me now” type. So with that, I will be gauging my success with how I feel when I put on that dress!

Good luck! I remember when you announced that you were getting married….February 2010 sounded so far away!
I’m glad to see you won’t be starving yourself, and I’m sure you’ll fit in that dress when the next fitting comes up!
You might be surprised how you can lose inches by walking and applying interval training with it.
Brisk walking for at 30 minutes can make a huge difference – add hills and you are really talking.
By the way, with a really brisk walk you should be able to talk – too busy huffing and puffing.
Well, if you are determined enough there is no impossible.
You got a nice blog, I enjoy reading your post and just can’t help but post a comment here. lol
Best Wishes in advance and good luck to the last fitting day!

My fitness regime is walking briskly with my dog twice a day and after 6 weeks I lost a stone in weight and now I jog slowly and plan to go faster each time I jog.
I read that this is called progressive training and it is certainly working for me and I eat the same amount of calories as before.
Congratulations and good luck with your goal Sue!
Very nice and informative article, let me share my fitness experience with dear readers. I used to be very fit and athlete, but with the passage of time I became lazy and developed a habit of eating and sleeping along with no exercise. Which deposited around 25 – 30 Kilo of fat into my stomach, face, legs and all over my body? Everyday when I looked in the mirror I had thought today I will start exercising, which was clearly a false promising to myself, again with the passage of time I realized now enough is enough I have to do something to get rid of this fat. So I stepped on to the thread mill and started running 40 Minutes everyday at 9 Miles per hour. Right after finishing a marathon every day I then take the free weight and start building my shoulders and biceps, chest and etc. 3 Days continues exercise and 2 days rest which continued over the period of 3 months and I have now lost 22 Kilo of fat and I have started to look young and energetic once again. I recommend everyone who is facing the same symptoms of fatness try to get fit, it is really easy and not difficult at all. Thank you

I’ve still yet to finish drafting my fitness goal and create my fitness plan for the year, but I’m trying my best to inch steadily towards it. I’m overweight and I understand that I need to work on losing them before I lose my life to it.
