The last time I really updated was in October 2010! I never revealed this on my blog, but the reason why I really stopped blogging here was because I was pregnant with my first child. I know that you can incorporate exercise when you’re pregnant, but for me, I was really cautious and decided the most exercise I would do was walking. I was also feeling really sick due to pregnancy hormones, and felt sick a lot. Fast forward to April 11, 2011, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy and being a mother took over and didn’t give me much room to do anything else.

My son is now 4 months old now, and it really hit me last night. I really need to get back into shape. I need to take off the pregnancy weight and I want to be able to fit into the clothes I used to fit into before I got pregnant. Getting rid of a bunch of clothes made me sad knowing that I couldn’t fit into them, and the idea of buying clothing sizes that I never thought I’d buy also made me feel bad. So I decided there is no better time to make a change than now. Because if I don’t do it now, when will I ever?

I bought Jillian Michaels’ Ripped in 30 DVD and I’m pretty excited to try it out. I also plan to buy new sneakers so it will motivate me to keep at working out. I also want to start eating a lot better than I am now. I know it’s a lot to get back into a workout routine, but I want to do this. It’s not only for me, but it’s for my son too. I want to set an example for him as he gets older too.

I decided that in the coming weeks I am going to start rearranging some things at the blog too. One thing at a time, but I’ll get there. I really gotta get back into workin’ on my fitness!

Not everyone is perfect, and many of us make decisions that go entirely in a different direction. I have been feeling like that lately. I’ve had a lot of set backs and it made me wonder if I’m ever going to get back on track. I’m currently working on document for my business, and then I encountered setbacks – with my health, preventing me from getting it done and ready to everyone to see. I rather make sure it is as good as it can be, than not be so great and put a bad impression upon myself, but it’s hard. As a perfectionist, I tend to keep reviewing and revising, then scrapping it later – which is totally no good at all!

Anyway, I plan to have it done by Wednesday the latest, so I can start promoting the business.

My point is that having set backs are tend to happen, whether you’re working out, working on a paper, or anything that requires your full attention. The important thing is to not let it get in the way of actually getting it done! When you complete something and get it out there, it definitely makes you feel accomplished, and who doesn’t want to feel that way?

By the way, the photo in this post is the pumpkin patch my family and I visited this past weekend – I love fall outings, even though it was 80 degrees out!

I thought about if I should even write about this, but this is my blog, and I have a responsibility to those who read my blog. I have yet to share some news, but for now, I’m going to wait. Fitness is something that is pretty important, and I always wanted to keep it top of mind but sometimes its hard. In my current condition it’s not easy to go out and run, or do a Jillian Michaels DVD, and sometimes I don’t have the energy to. The most exercise I have done lately is walking around when I buy groceries or dancing around my living room. I have to take it easy for a while, and I don’t like it, but I am trying my best to be active.

I know this is Workin On My Fitness, and I guess it’s a work in progress on my fitness. I know that there are bloggers out there who do a great job with working out and I totally respect that. I hope that eventually I’ll be able to share some of me workin’ on my fitness soon.

As part of my fresh start, I decided that minimalism is something I want to incorporate in my life. After watching an episode of the show Hoarders, it made me realize that we as a society, buy way too much things. Luckily, my possessions have decreased since I moved to Florida six years ago. But I still have a lot of things that I could definitely do without. I’ve read about people who own only 50 things, and although that it too extreme for me, I rather have all the essential clothing that I need. Living in Florida makes having less easy, since I don’t need winter clothing, boots, or heavy coats.

I figure that since clothes don’t last forever, I would wear them until they are unwearable, and then donate them. The same goes with shoes. As far as decorating our home, things like picture frames with photos of family and small touches here and there. If you think about it, having less makes life breathable, and you don’t have to worry about clutter.

What do you think? Would having less work for you?

Happy October everyone! I’m finally on a computer typing up this post. It’s been a rough week, as well as a difficult month for me physically. The weather is getting just a tad cooler in South Florida, and the sun comes up later on. I can’t believe that it’s already October! One of my goals for this month is to be a lot more active physically. It’s been tough working out when it’s hot and you’re just feeling like crap, so I hope that this month will be better for me. I took a nice brisk walk in my neighborhood and it was 68 degrees outside! For South Florida, that’s a nice treat! I’m looking forward to the weekend, as it’s my birthday tomorrow and my parents are having a get together at their house, with lots of food and my fave – a whole roasted pig! It’s something I always look forward to when I find out my dad is roasting a lechon. I make a huge deal out of it because it doesn’t come by often.

Anyway, I personally like the beginning of a new month, because it’s a time to just start fresh. Sure, you can start fresh any day, but I like the beginning of a new month as a starting point. Here’s to progress, good health and the start of a year being older (tomorrow)!

Have an awesome weekend everyone!
